Welcome to Ask the Editor!

Just a reminder that this series will be the only posts I publish that are behind a paywall. This is both for the privacy of the writers who submit their work, and for me to earn income for my work as an editor. My regular posts will remain free!

Today’s installment is jam-packed with pitches, pages, and publishing questions. We’ll be looking at:

  • Revisions on the middle grade pitch and pages from last week’s issue

  • Pages from a maybe-horror, maybe-thriller, maybe-YA, maybe-adult

  • A query for an upmarket adult novel

  • Naming names when it comes to non-reputable agencies

  • Figuring out the genre of a work-in-progress

Grab the beverage of your choice (it’s a black coffee morning for me, personally) and let’s jump in!
